Purity
When you wear a ring or a bracelet or a necklace for a long time, you automatically start considering it as a part of yourself. Subtly, that becomes a part of you, and you get attached to it. Similarly, since we, the energy (the point of light, called 'soul') have been wearing this costume (this body) for a very long time now, we have got attached to it so much that we consider it as ourselves. We think we are this body itself and that it will perish after a stipulated time.We considered ourselves as a body, hence thought that sensual pleasure gives us happiness. Attachment to the body gave rise to looking at others' body and not the soul. Attachment to the body gave rise to attraction at the physical level. However, we failed to realize that it is ME, the soul, who experiences the happiness/pleasure, not this body. It is ME, the soul, who develops relationships with others, not this body. Hence, when in soul-consciousness, we awaken to the fact that I am a happy soul, and pleasure (what I am looking for, outside) is actually my original nature.
I don't have to see, feel, do anything to feel nice. Happiness is my original state of being, which I experience being soul-conscious. Purity is natural. To experience the state of soul-consciousness, purity is necessary. To be able to experience and live with soul-consciousness, the focus has to shift from the body to the soul i.e. the being i.e. the consciousness, hence purity of the thoughts and actions is necessary.
Thoughts create Destiny, as I have written in another note, but it is Information, through the five senses, which creates these Thoughts. Source of Information is in huge number outside. The most prominent one being the television, newspaper, Internet, discussions with others. If we tell ourselves to limit the amount of intake of information, or filter our the quality of information we take inside, our thought-pattern will automatically change.
A flower on the tree remains for much longer than it does when plucked.
BELIEF TO CHECK AND CHANGE: Relationship between two people is only based on physical level. If not this, then what?
BELIEF TO CHECK AND CHANGE: Sensual pleasure is natural. It is the law of nature. One cannot be away from it while in society.
BELIEF TO CHECK AND CHANGE: Maintaining purity is difficult.
BELIEF TO CHECK AND CHANGE: Purity is unessential in a husband-wife relationship.
Lowest level/form of body-consciousness is lust. Even seeing, thinking and doing any act of this sort is very low level.
Just give yourself a time-period to try out purity. It is simple, it is natural. It is not impossible. You will feel a reservoir of energy developed within yourself. Depletion of energy will stop.
During meditation and trying to connecting to Baba (i.e. God, whom we call Allah, Ishwar, Noor, Father, Supreme, Deity), we charge ourselves, but again, in body-consciousness, we discharge ourselves more through such acts. Thus, the over-powering of values over vices is not possible. Vices win the score over virtues.
Brahmacharya is the basic-most necessity of all towards a soul-conscious stage. Then comes the thought-level purity, which develops naturally.
This is THE ONLY reason why purity i.e. celibacy is essential: You realize that you are a soul, not this body. To be able to shift the focus and consciousness from body to soul, we need to forget we are this body. Thus, it is necessary to stop doing things with / for this body. This solves the identity-crisis we have always had. You continue to do everything you are currently doing, but in a much elevated, beautiful, enriched, and correct way. And once you meet THE GOD, what else do you want in life?
Yug transformation will happen automatically. It is just the transformation of the soul. Yug is society. Society is the collective consciousness of all the souls living in that society. Once the state of the souls becomes that of those in Satyug, Satyug will automatically come. However, now, time is less, hence more efforts are required. Efforts and change needs to be brought inside. External changes will happen automatically.
A trace of the vice of lust means to have all limited desires. First is the desire for things and next is the desire for limited attainment from people. The third desire is in fulfilling the responsibility of relationships. The fourth desire is limited desires in the motivation to serve. To have special attraction to any person or any thing and to say that you don't have a desire but that you like it is a trace of the vice of lust. When even this subtle trace finishes, you can then be called one who is a conqueror of lust and a conqueror of the world.
