In order to adopt honesty and cleanliness, make your nature easy and simple

Read this slogan in today's {27-Arp-'10} Murli. Thought of elaborating it in simple words and share with everybody around some aspects of our thinking process. This note is nothing to do with hi-fi words like 'Philosophy', 'Spirituality'. It is practically applicable to you and me right now. To anybody who feels sad at times (for no real reason).
Let me start with some important words present in the Slogan itself.
Honesty, literally means being faithful and truthful. The most important aspect of honesty is being truthful to ourselves. Being truthful does not only mean telling ourselves what is right and wrong, but also meaning all that we are doing in life. Today, we humans have reached a stage when most of the times, we do not know WHY exactly we are saying, doing, or even thinking whatever we are. We may know the reason behind it, and we may also know that we may not achieve what we are thinking and heading towards, however, we have lost the power to STOP. To stop thinking that is not fruitful to us, to stop thinking that is harmful to us. Well, every action begins from thinking, so you may come across thinking more than 'doing', speaking, etc. Everything done other than thinking (including thinking itself) is an action. In cases when we don't mean what we think, say, do, we are not really being honest to ourselves.
Cleanliness, is another beautiful aspect. Cleanliness is the absence of blockage in how we perceive others. (Let's keep perceiving ourselves aside for a moment) Simple example, saying, "I don't like the black color" is completely different from saying (rather believing that), "Black color is not good". Yes, we mean "Black color is not good, according to me", but why!? Is it necessary to have an opinion? Well, yes, we should have opinions, and it is necessary, but not to the extent that we seeing this world as a bad place and our life to be sad, bad, dull and boring. We have forgotten the thin line between our opinions and our beliefs. We need to draw that line clearly. Only then will we be able to look at the world without any shades (glasses, spectacles), in its correct color and perspective.
Life in itself is a very simple journey. It is us who make it a little complex at times, and that is only because we are always busy running behind everything, be it at work, at home, in relationships. Many times, we don't even know our aim of running so hard behind everything. It is things like these that have complicated our life to a great extent. To un-complicate it then requires efforts. We did not maintain our health when we were healthy, and now that we have fallen ill, we need to consume anti-biotics and get back to that healthy state again. If falling sick physically is unnatural, so is falling sick mentally, and feeling hollowness, sadness, cribbing, even in its slightest form is the sign of sickness. Even if you have a little pain in your fingers, you will make sure that you take care and rest to get rid of it. You don't want that pain to grow. Similarly, even thinking of a little hurt and sadness inside is the sign that you need to wake up now and start working towards a 'healthier' life.
It is easy only if you have the WILL to do it. Otherwise, it will seem as difficult and challenging as it seems to climb the Mount Everest. Only if a patient wishes to get well, does he go to the doctor's clinic and get himself some prescriptions. The doctor recommends him a diet plan. Only if, again, a patient wishes to get well sooner, he will follow that diet plan meticulously, not otherwise. If he doesn't follow the plan and gets further ill, who's fault is it?
Reading the thoughts, slogans, and sayings all over the Internet only makes us feel nice and makes us think, "How nice, how true!", but that is of no use until it is imbibed into our life, and is reflected naturally in our way of living life. It is very important to find out the ways of practically applying the thoughts, verbiages, slogans, and sayings to our life. Otherwise, they just remain thoughts and never convert to our Ways Of Living. This is the true art of living life.
Let me tell you, it is not difficult to be simple. Thoughts like, "It is very simple to be happy, but very difficult to be simple" sound funny, but we start believing things that are not always true. It is very simple to be simple. Simplicity does not mean renouncing your car, bungalow, wealth, and fashionable clothes, gold, etc. Simplicity is how clean and clear we think... about ourselves, about others, and about our life. If we think about something that is not under our control, we are not being simple.
I thought of some points which are the eternal solutions for living a healthy, simple, easy, beautiful, love-ful life. I may not elaborate them greatly, as the note will get only longer. I may either write more notes or you can discuss with me anywhere any time.
[1] Do not think about the past or future
== It is not under our control. Also, thinking about it only means you are creating hypothetical scenes in your mind. What actually happens is totally different.
[2] Do not gossip
== Even thinking about someone else is gossiping. 'What is he doing?', 'What is he not doing?', 'Why is he behaving like that?' are all waste
[3] Live in the present moment
== Your present becomes your past and your present creates your future. So, unless you make a fruitful present, you will never have a fruitful future.
[4] Live and let live
== It is not 'don't care', but it is to let the world, climate, television actors, employees, friends, relatives, family members, be the way they are. Accept them as they are first, and then see what you can contribute to their growth (mind you, not to their 'change').
[5] Do not think too much
== It is simply of no use. Consumes a lot of energy. Put a full stop, and you will get the solution the moment you put a true full stop to over-thinking.
[6] Never send negative energy to someone via thoughts
== Firstly, energy comes back. Secondly, it affects them too. Simple example is, If you love someone, and they don't reciprocate, don't crib. Let them be the way they are, because if you don't, you will end up cribbing, creating negative energy in thoughts of that person, and end up repelling them through your negative energy. People usually have the tendency to add people to their Facebook/Orkut profiles to befriend them. They chat with them many times and the others don't seem to respond. It's okay, give them their time, let them live their life and play their role at the right time. Don't force them for loving you. You will only repel them.
