F.A.Q.s on Spirituality
Frequently Asked Questions on Spirituality - Answers in Sagar's words
Q: What is Spirituality?
A: Spirituality is you. Spirituality is for you. It is the knowledge of the truth. It is not theory, bookish knowledge, or something irrelevant. It is a way of living your life. It is for your life now.
Q: What do you mean by 'the truth of life'?
A: The truth of life is that "I am energy, a point of light, called soul, energy, consciousness or any other word. Similarly, my Father is the Supreme Soul, whose name means seed, benevolent. He is the seed, and His name is 'Shiv' - irrespective of any religion". He is also light, energy, but supreme.
Thus, you are not this temporary body, but you are the energy driving this body.
Q: Is Shiv same as Shankar?
A: No. Shankar is the one we worship in the corporeal form, or whom we worship as a physical deity. Shiv does not have His own body. He is light, energy, an infinitesimally tiny point of light.
Q: What is Brahma Kumaris? Did God select only them? Why so? Why not others?
A: Brahma Kumaris is a World Spiritual Organization. You can read more on www.bkwsu.org. No, God did not select them. God (Shiv) imparted this knowledge through the mouth of Brahma (whom we worship as a deity or element or God), and formed a group of people, the very first being Brahma. The children of Brahma (i.e. born through this knowledge) are Kumaris/Kumars, and thus, eventually the group of people was named as "Brahma Kumaris".
Q: Is God really ONE?
A: Yes, all religions believe so. Most of us believe too. God is ONE. Just called by different names, worshiped in various forms of idols, deities, but we all do believe that there is one energy up above.
Jesus, Mohammed, and all other great souls and prophets of religions always pointed their finger up saying that God is Light, Energy, Noor, and up and above. If you know history, you will realize that they never called themselves God. But we started considering them God, as we could not visualize an invisible God. Though they introduced Him to us, we could not understand. It's like 10 people introducing you. No one is wrong, but no one is 100% accurate either. Only when you come and introduce yourself, it will be 100% accurate.
Q: What are the deities whom we now keep worshiping? e.g. Ganesha, Ram, Hanumaan
A: All of these existed 2500 years ago. They do not exist now. We remember them, because they were divine and pure.
Q: Many times I have reaped the fruits of my worship to God, it shouldn't be false, should it?
A: God exists, thus, in whatever form you are worshiping with a true and honest heart, the prayers and your cry for help is reaching that one God only. Thus, He blesses us many times, which we consider as the fruits of our prayers to deities and their idols.
Q: Why is spirituality a must?
A: Well, it is not a must. It is our choice to imbibe it into our life and elevate our life. Spirituality helps us eradicate our negative and waste thoughts and inculcate positive and pure thoughts. Medicines are not a must. Only if we want to get well soon, we can have them. We turn to Doctors only when we are ill. Most of us turn to God only when we are sad, but why not be happier instead of being only happy? Why to wait to get the pain and then turn to God? Why not be prepared?
In my opinion, it is good to know all this spiritual knowledge, whereas, how much to imbibe in your life is up to you.
Q: What is the right age for spirituality?
A: What is the age for depression, stress, tension, diabetes today? 9, 10, 15? Then that itself is the right age for spirituality. Spirituality is not specific to age, sex, caste, creed, religion, region. It is applicable to you and me.
Q: Why celibacy?
A: To experience the truth of "I the soul", we need to shift focus from this temporary body to the eternal, indestructible, nameless, tag-less soul. Celibacy begins from the mind. The need for external stimulus to experience sensual pleasure is lust. Lust is the lowest and strongest form of body-consciousness. It drifts you away from soul-consciousness and takes you towards body-consciousness. Hence, those who follow celibacy (starting from the mind) can experience soul-consciousness much easily, which is obvious.
It's like a diet plan given by doctor to the patient. Not compulsory or mandatory, but good for recovering faster.
Q: Do I have to leave anything for turning to spirituality?
A: Well, basically, spirituality is nothing but remembering who you are (and who your Father is) and living your life in those values. It's like a small child who was lost in crowd and has now found his father again. Does he have to leave anything to be with his father? No, right? Similarly, with the inculcation, rather emergence of your original values of love, happiness, peace, you will see that your life is beautified much more than before without having to change anything. Yes, there are some good-to-do's in spirituality, however, the choice is yours. Depends on how fast you wish to move ahead, and how far you wish to reach. God is your Father, He will never want you to do anything that you will not be happy doing. Thus, at one hand you will find me speaking about movies and work, and at the other hand, I speak about God. He is my Father, and your relationship with your Father is independent of anything else you do.
Spirituality is for the life you are living right now. If you sit on an island and say, "I never get angry", it will have no value as compared to you saying the same statement while being amongst the people who annoy you the most.
It's like a doctor recommending you a diet. If you follow it, you'll get well sooner, but if you are confident not following it, it's completely your choice. Similarly, turning to Spirituality does not RESTRICT you from doing certain things. There are recommendations, no doubt, but don't not open up to your Father fearing that there might be many rules and regulations. Following them will make your journey faster and you will reach your goal sooner, however, even if they are NECESSARY, they are not MANDATORY.
People usually make hasty decisions and leave understanding this beautiful knowledge presuming that they will be asked to leave their life-partner, home, and wear white clothes forever. This is not required. This is knowledge for you for your life right now, for your moment right now. The aim of this knowledge is to be applicable to your moment right now, and purify and clean your mind to lead a better life.
Q: So, what should the aim of my life be?
A: Honestly, I am here just to share my little knowledge and experiences with you. You are the best person to decide what is right for you and your life.
Q: What are the other vices in human beings?
A: Anger, Greed, Attachment, Ego, and Lust are the five results (vices) of body-consciousness. Of these, eradicating the first four is the easiest compared to the fifth. This is because the first four give pain, but the fifth one gives sensual pleasure.
Q: Why is it necessary to experience soul-consciousness?
A: Soul-consciousness is the truth of life. It is only in the soul-conscious state that you can know what is peace, happiness, love, bliss, purity, knowledge, and power. Everybody has their own experiences, but one common factor is that you connect (really, directly, and dynamically) with the Supreme Soul (Almighty Father - Shiva).
Q: Where is Lord Shiv present physically?
A: Lord Shiv resides beyond the universe. It is the place beyond the limits of space, time, sound, and any other element of nature. It is an infinite space of golden red light. It is where we have come from, and it is the place where we are all going back soon. It is called Paramdhaam, Muktidhaam, Shantidhaam, and a place of liberty or Mukti that most of us are looking for. You can go there with the power of your mind (even though the soul cannot physically leave the body and go there), and experience the light during meditation.
Q: What if I don't try soul-consciousness?
A: You will continue to lead the life you are leading now. No change. One thing I can say for sure is that you will miss out experiencing the truth of your life.
Q: What is death? I am actually scared of it.
A: A soul is indestructible and cannot die. It is energy. Thus, YOU never die (recollect that you are energy and not this body?). You just leave your body. So, once soul-consciousness is experienced, you will naturally understand that you can never die and that you are eternal energy.
Q: Does this mean I existed before this birth?
A: Yes, in another body.
Q: What is the guarantee that this is not my first birth?
A: It is nowhere written and nobody can prove it to yourself, but try out practicing meditation and soul-consciousness, you will get the answer and know that you always existed.
Many a times, we intellectualize this knowledge a lot, which takes our thinking in another direction, in fact, drifts away from what we can experience. Just do not think too much. You will get all the answers at the right time. It's not wrong to have questions, but trying to put everything into theorems and formulas does not help in spirituality. It is something you need to sit and practice from right now. Just don't think too much.
Q: My life is already very good. Why do I need all this?
A: Firstly, you have to evaluate for yourself if you "need" this.
With the presence of such beautiful knowledge, why not beautify your life and make it better than today? Why to wait for pain to come your way before visiting the doctor? It is always good to keep yourself healthy beforehand, right?
Challenging situations keep coming, and their intensity might increase in the world, so, why wait till late? Make every moment of your life beautiful from now.
Q: I get you, but I am now married. What can I do?
A: So what? Much better in fact. Share this knowledge with the people around you.
Q: I am interested in knowing more. What can I do?
A: Contact me absolutely anytime anyhow.
Q: My question is not answered, what do I do?
A: Write to me
